Friday Dispatch-Issue No. 1 | A New Introduction

Carol Wiloth staring down the long par 5 on hole 13

This is the first of what will become a simple Friday tradition at Cobble Creek.

Not an announcement blast.
Not a sales pitch.
Just a short note to share what makes this place feel the way it does.

Cobble Creek has always been more than a golf course. It’s a rhythm. A landscape shaped by wind, sun, and patience. A place where walking nine at dusk feels as meaningful as posting a number on the card.

Starting in 2026, we are quietly refining how Cobble Creek presents itself to the world. Not to chase attention, but to reflect who we already are, a course influenced by Colorado’s high desert, a membership that values space, pace, and authenticity, and a culture built around community, conversation, and respect for the land.

That philosophy shows up in small but intentional ways. On Wednesdays and Thursdays, the course is open exclusively to walkers. It has been rewarding to see how many take advantage of that opportunity, slowing the pace of the game while also reducing wear on the course itself. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best way forward is simply to move more thoughtfully.

This time of year asks for that same awareness. With most of the turf dormant through the winter months, the course requires extra care, patience, and consideration from all of us. Stewardship isn’t just about how the course looks in peak season, but how it’s protected when growth is quiet and recovery matters most.

This Friday letter exists to tell that story.

Sometimes it will be about the course.
Sometimes about the people who play it, work it, or walk it.
Sometimes it will simply mark a moment, a season changing, a frost delay lifting, a late-day loop when the light hits the mesas just right.

For members, consider this a window into how Cobble Creek is being thoughtfully stewarded for the long term.
For those beyond the community, it’s an introduction to a club that values restraint, character, and continuity over flash.

That’s it for today.

We’ll keep these notes short, intentional, and worth opening.

Have a good weekend, and keep a weather eye on the horizon; a light dusting of snow would be welcome news for our Superintendent, Paul, helping protect the course as it moves through the dormant season.
